and provides board level participation. The Association of Cuban Engineers (A.I.C.) is a dynamic, bilingual, non-partisan, professional organization originally made up by Cuban and Cuban-American Engineers from the various engineering disciplines. Today it has several members of other nationalities. The association was founded in the early 1960s for the purpose of easing the transition into exile of Professional Engineers coming to the U.S. from Cuba’s shores. It offers numerous services to its members living in the United States and abroad.
Purpose and Mission
The primary purpose of the association is to provide interaction to its members with other Cuban American engineers living in the U.S. and other countries. The association strives to provide community service along with other professional and civic organizations, sponsor conferences and professional meetings, maintain Cuban cultural value, and strengthen ties with other engineering organizations around the world. Paramount to the association is to provide scholarships for engineering students and recognize those members of the profession who have excelled in their fields of practice.
